TERRARIUM - URBAN SUPPLY STORE

A LAYERED RETAIL EXPERIENCE ...

Terrarium - an Urban Supply Store - is a renovation project proposed in Eugene, Oregon.  I took the idea of a terrarium (a place of layered resources) and created a sense of multi-dimensional store, where at every turn or every glance you can observe something beyond it. 

 I used transparent and solid materials for the display shelves and created a maze-like circulation path through out the store. The walls of the store were covered with CNC detailed plywood paneling to hide storage or reveal doors or shelves. I placed two skylights into the roof of the building to bring light into the display areas and at the back of the counter. 

This urban farm supply store introduced luxury, simplicity, and layers of products and information to create a unique user experience.
